This program trains individuals to effectively assist in pharmaceutical preparations and complete daily required tasks in any pharmacy environment. This class introduces students to various pharmacy practice settings and covers drug classes, basic physiology, drug interactions, and daily pharmacy operations. Learn the basic concepts of pharmacy calculations, practice math concepts, and understand calculations needed to become a certified pharmacy technician. This class also will prepare students for the national certification exam.
In addition to 180 hours of classroom training, students will need to complete a 120-hour externship. The class meets both online and in person (at Woonsocket Education Center).
CCRI, Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, and the RI Department of Labor and Training’s Real Jobs Rhode Island fund the program and offer it free of charge to students.
